Your Unicycle Not Working Like It Should? Find the Solution Here

My unicycle is acting weird. What now?

Pedal loose? Saddle wobbles? Wheel squeaks? Don't worry – you're not the first. Especially if you're just starting out or have assembled your own bike, there can be some teething problems. Fortunately, most problems are easily solved. We'll help you get started.

1. My pedal is loose

Are you riding and feel your pedal coming loose? It's incredibly frustrating, but often easy to fix. In this video, world champion Roos Seegers explains it:

  • Check that the left is really the left – the pedal with the “L” belongs on the left.
  • Tighten the crank bolts and pedals securely – first by hand, then with a tool.
  • Don't overtighten. Tightening is tight.

2. I'm missing a pedal (or so I thought)

Common panic: “There’s only one pedal in the box!”

There's a good chance the other pedal is simply hidden. The left one is often at the bottom, the right one at the top of the box. So, open both sides. This video shows you exactly where to look:

Still completely lost it? Send us a message or email us – and we'll fix it together.

3. Other frequently asked problems

  • Is your saddle wobbly?
Check that the saddle clamp is secure. The four nuts under the saddle may also need a little tightening.
  • Is your wheel creaking?
Probably some dust or a loose bearing cap. Clean everything and tighten it properly.
  • Stiff pedals?
New pedals can feel a little stiff. This will become smoother over time. Got some dirt in there? A quick clean will help.
