They have smaller and harder wheels than normal skates, between 45 and 68mm. The smaller wheels give the rider more stability. The harder wheels make it possible to slide with the skates.

Aggressive skates have 2 or 4 wheels that are placed far apart, creating a space in the middle that allows for grinding. The frame is extra strong and made of plastic, a kind of nylon composite. In addition, special 'soul plates' are often mounted on the bottom of the frame to ensure proper grinding.

The shoes are made of hard plastic and are extra high to give the rider extra support when grinding or other stunts. The high shoe also offers protection to the ankles and ankles. Aggressive skates are a lot stronger than normal inline skates.
