This is how you solve it.

Are your aggressive inline skates not working as you expect? Don't panic. Many problems are caused by a loose axle, dirt between the wheels, or a part that is not properly adjusted. Often, you can easily check and fix this yourself.

On this page, you will find the most common problems with aggressive inline skates. This way, you will discover where the problem might originate and which parts to check first.

Common problems

My wheels don't turn smoothly

First, check that the wheel axles are not overtightened. Next, remove the wheels from the frame and check for dirt, hair, or sand between the bearings and spacers. Do the bearings rotate stiffly or jerkily even when removed from the wheel? If so, they may need to be cleaned or replaced.

One wheel spins less well than the other wheels

Remove the wheel from the frame and check if the bearings are seated straight. Also check if the spacer is present between the bearings and is properly positioned. Then reinstall the wheel and tighten the axle firmly, without overtightening it.

My skate makes a ticking, creaking, or squeaking sound.

Check all wheel axles, frame bolts, cuff bolts, and soulplate mounts. Even a small amount of play can cause noise while riding. Also check for sand or dirt between moving parts.

There is play in the frame

Check that the bolts attaching the frame to the shoe are securely tightened. Tighten the bolts evenly. Does the frame continue to move, or do you see damage around the attachment point? If so, stop skating until the part has been checked or replaced.

My buckle doesn't close properly

Check that the buckle and the buckle strap align properly. Check for dirt between the fastening mechanism and ensure the strap teeth are not worn. On many models, a damaged buckle or strap can be replaced separately.

My laces or straps don't hold my foot properly.

Loosen the laces completely and then pull them evenly from the toes. Next, check if the straps still have sufficient grip and are not stretched or damaged. Does your heel keep lifting? Then also check if the inner boot fits properly in the skate.

The inner boot slides or does not fit properly

Remove the liner from the hard boot and reinsert it. Check that the heel is seated all the way at the back and that the tongue is not folded over. Also check that the sole and any shock absorber are lying straight.

My skates pull to one side

Check that all wheels are worn evenly and that the frame sits straight under the shoe. A heavily worn wheel or a crookedly mounted frame can cause your skate to pull to the left or right.

My wheels have flat sides

Flat spots often develop due to braking, sliding, and hard landings. Swap the wheels when wear is still limited. Are the flat spots clearly noticeable while driving? Then it is advisable to replace the wheels.

My soulplate or H-block is firing up

Check that the soulplate, frame, and H-block are properly assembled. Also check for protruding screws, deep damage, or loose parts. Do not use the skates if any part is cracked or severely deformed.

There is a tear in my cuff, frame, or soulplate

Stop skating as soon as you discover a crack in a load-bearing part. A damaged frame, a torn cuff, or a broken soulplate can break further during a jump or landing. Replace the damaged part before you skate again.

Can't figure it out?

Can't find the problem, or does your skate still not work properly after inspection? Then take clear photos or a short video of the problem. This will help us better assess which part needs to be checked or replaced.
