Because Sector 9 was founded by surfers in La Jolla, California (you should know this by now), it makes sense that our boards have been heavily inspired by surfing over the years. This year's Swell Photo Collection is therefore no different. You're probably familiar with Ben Thouard's wave images from Tahiti, as we've featured his amazing photography on decks in the past. However, we've added to our growing list of watermen for this collection with photographer Phillip Thurston. Hailing from NSW, Australia, Thurston's photographs often feel more like paintings of flowing movement than as captured images, and we are both excited and honored to feature his work on our latest boards.
