Assembling, Adjusting, and Preparing Your Stunt Scooter for First Use

How do I use my stunt scooter for the first time?

Yes! Your stunt scooter has arrived – it's going to be a blast! But before you hit the skate park or try your first bunny hop, it's wise to check that everything is secure and properly adjusted. In a few simple steps, you can get your stunt scooter ready to ride.

Check your stunt scooter setup

Going out on your stunt scooter for the first time? You'll want to make sure everything is properly secured. With this quick checklist, you'll be ready to roll in no time. Just step by step – easy, right?

Check your setup in 9 steps

  1. Drop test: Lift your scooter 15 cm and drop it. Do you hear a sharp sound? Then something is loose.
  2. Perfect sound? Then the drop test sounds dull. Great! Everything is securely fastened.
  3. Steering wheel crooked? Nope, you really don't want that.
  4. Straighten the handlebars: Place the front wheel against a wall or other obstacle (and loosen the handlebar clamp). This will create resistance to straighten the handlebars.
  5. Is the steering wheel straight? Check from above to make sure everything is aligned properly.
  6. Tighten the handlebar clamp: Tighten the bolts alternately in small 1/8 turns. This distributes the pressure evenly.
  7. Check: The steering wheel is now firm and straight. That's how it should be!
  8. Is the headset loose? Turn the handlebars back and forth. Does it feel stiff or creaky? Then you should check the headset.
  9. Tightening the wheels: Use two Allen keys to tighten both the front and rear wheels securely.

Done? Drop it and get ready to go!

Tip: Always wear a helmet and safety gear. Especially when performing tricks or performing at high speeds, this is essential.

Common beginner mistakes

  • Loose handlebars or a crookedly mounted bar – always check
  • Pushing with your front foot (yep, it happens more often than you think)
  • Trying tricks on a wet or uneven surface

Be careful with your rear brake

Braking is useful – skidding is not.

If you slam on your rear brake and your wheel locks up, your wheels will wear out faster, resulting in a flat spot.

The result: your scooter starts to bounce while riding, and you lose grip. Not pleasant.

Ready for your first ride?

Give yourself some time. Everyone starts somewhere. And with a properly adjusted scooter, a little practice, and a bit of courage, you'll soon be riding like a pro in the park. Let's ride!
