It all started with a cookie. In 1980, three young surfers from Southern California were trying to decide what to do with their lives. They decided to start a cookie business and named it Maui's Chocolate Chip Cookies. Their small business didn't last long. After baking their first batch of cookies, they turned their attention to designing surf fashion. Maui and Sons was an instant hit! And the cookie? It became the inspiration for the Maui and Sons logo.
To date, Maui has sold over 2,000,000 boards worldwide, including pennyboards, cruisers, longboards and skateboards.
Maui and Sons is a skate & surf specialist. Maui also owns other skate brands such as X-Caliber (founded in 1976 in California) and Jimmy'Z (founded in 1984 in California)
